The best act of the night will be presented with the coveted Hugo Award for the Most Erotic and Sexy Re-enactment of a Corny Love Scene.

It's something like a cross between one of those weird and charming karaoke shows somewhere in downtown Tokyo and a very experimental, improvised performance somewhere in an “Off–Off” Broadway theatre in the East Village, New York City. And now ad hundreds of snippets of our collective “movie memory” of all decades and here we have: movieoke!
How it works:
Just pick the favourite scene from our huge movie playlist you want to act out (it will play behind you on a screen), have a beer (or two) and go on stage and do it! And, if you are too shy, just watch the others doing it while having a drink and enjoying yourself. Feel free to bring any props or costumes –or other people– on stage to help you with your act. Subtitle prompts will roll on a separate screen for people who haven’t learnt their lines.
So, “Go ahead, punk, make your day!” at the fun, amusing, sometimes bizarre and almost always trashy Movieoke Night and… May the force be with you! |
