Juan León wird 1965 in Antofagasta/Chile geboren 1992 schließt er ein Studium an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden mit einem Diplom im Fachbereich Bühnenbild ab. Seit 1992 arbeitet Juan León als Bühnen- und Kostümbildner für Schauspiel, Oper, Ballett und Fernsehen. Eine seiner frühen Arbeiten ist das Bühnenbild für "Boris Godunow" von Modest Mussorgsky am Deutschen Nationaltheater Weimar. Es folgen weitere Aufträge als Ausstatter am Staatsschauspiel Dresden, am Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, am Volkstheater Rostock, am TiF (Theater in der Fabrik Dresden), am Theater Gera-Altenburg, am Carrousel Theater Berlin, am Schauspielhaus Kiel und am Staatstheater Schwerin. In den letzten Jahren entstanden Bühnen- und Kostümbilder für das Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, das Gran Teatro Nacional de la Habana/Cuba, das Opernhaus Halle, das Theater Heilbronn und das Theater Magdeburg. Mit Bettina Jahnke arbeitete er bereits am Staatstheater Cottbus als Bühnenbildner zusammen. Nach HIOB, DAS HIMBEERREICH, JOSEPH UND SEINE BRÜDER sowie CORPUS DELICTI wird DAS KALTE HERZ Juan Leóns fünfte Ausstattung am RLT Neuss sein.
