The exploration of the possibilities and limits of extended reality in theatre occupies artists and scientists alike. It takes place on stages and in laboratories, on screens and in conversations, has to do with rehearsing and coding. It is just as artistically-practical as it is conceptually-theoretically orientated and makes the reference and networking of these two dimensions particularly necessary.

The symposium will therefore focus on an interdisciplinary exchange between representatives from theatre, technology, art and science, who will share their expertise, experiences and questions in three specialist panels. They will discuss the aesthetic potential of augmented realities as well as the practical challenges and solutions for integrating XR technologies into theatre operations in order to finally outline the future prospects of a theatre of augmented realities. read less
